Bhitri Sundarta means ‘Inner Beauty’ in the Nepali language. This is Book 1 of a 4-book curriculum originally designed to protect young Nepali girls, between the ages of 8 and 15, from the risks of trafficking and sexual abuse through the Daughter Project. We believe that prevention is the best tool to protect our daughters here at home too! So, we created this version for a North American audience. By building communities of support, helping girls define their worth and realize their potential, we are able to protect our daughters before they are lured, taken, abused…before it’s too late. The Building Character book contains six lessons: ‘Welcome to Bhitri Sundarta’, ‘Being YOUnique’, ‘Being A Good Friend’, ‘What Makes You Happy?’, ‘Making Healthy Choices’, and ‘Self Image’. The curriculum is used by Daughter Project Clubs around the world in schools, churches, social clubs, and community groups. Each lesson includes a story that relates especially to young girls, discussion topics, games and activities, as well as a journal entry… everything you need to begin protecting daughters.
